Railways Ticket Booking Short Terms and Meaning – CKWL, PQWL, RAC, RLGN etc

List of most frequently used short form in Indian Railways and their full form:Railway Ticket

1A: First class Air-Conditioned (AC), First AC

2A: AC in two tear sleeper class

3A: AC in three tear sleeper class

FC: First Class

3E: AC in tier economy

CC: AC in chair car

SL: Sleeper class withour AC

2S: Second Sitting class

PNR: Pessenger Name Record, this is a ten digit number used to keep records in the database of a computer reservation system (CRS) that contains the itinerary (a planned route or journey) for a passenger, or a group of passengers travelling together.

RAC/RC: Reservation Against Cancellation

GN: General Quota

LD: Ladies Quota

HO: High Official quota

DF: Defense Quota

PH: Parliament House Quota

FT: Foreign House Quota

DP: Duty Pass Quota

CK: Tatkal Quota

PT: Premium Tatkal Quota

SS: Senior Citizen/Travelling Alone/Female above 45 years

HP: Handicapped (Physically) quota

RE: Railway Employee Staff on duty for the train

GNRS: General Quota Road Side. This code is used for those railway stations that are still not connected to PRS (Passenger Reservation System).

WL: Waiting List. Meaning that the ticket is still not get confirmed.

CNF: Confirmed, issued only when you’ll get confirmed birth.

GNWL: General Waiting List

GNWL/AVAILABLE: Ticket is confirmed and seat will be allotted of final chart.

RLWL: Remote Location Waiting List means the confirmation of the ticket depends on intermediate stations between starting and terminating stations. Because the remote location stations prepare there final chart before 2-3 hours of the actual departure of the train.

PQWL: Pooled Quota Waiting List

RLGN: Remote Location General Waiting List

RSWL: Roadside Station Waiting List

RQWL: Request Quota Waiting List

CKWL: Issued when there is waiting list on tatkal booking.
